This book is focused on the UK, which always has a somewhat different perspective on Europe. This book is good because Hugo Dixon is making a case for Britain to stay in the European Union from a liberal conservative perspective — and in Britain Euroscepticism, or even .   If you don't want to go too deep in the topic at first, I would say the Biography of Jacques Delors (former President of the European Commission) - which has lots of good anecdotes, and might require some help from Wikipedia sometimes. Any book.
